In honor of Teacher Appreciation week, which is fast approaching, I'm going to detour from my normal posting schedule. Instead, I'll be sharing with you the projects I am working on for my kids' schools. Somewhere in there I'm also supposed to come up with a Wedding Cake for a Romeo and Juliet Party, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there.
First up - Scissors! What teacher doesn't need scissors? I know mine disappear all the time. With this little project, your teacher will have their own personalized set of shears to admire. This is a super easy and inexpensive gift that is also very useful. All you need is some scissors, Mod Podge, and some scrapbook paper.

Cut out the paper to match the blade.
Apply a layer of Mod Podge.
Place the paper on top of the paste.
Apply another layer of Mod Podge on top of the paper. Let dry and then repeat on other side.
That's it.
After letting it dry, I started thinking about covering the entire area up to the handles. This particular pair has hardware exposed in which I would have to be careful not to cover in order to keep the scissors functioning properly. I'll be sure to update you at the end of the week if I do when I show you the whole package all together. So, how much do you appreciate your teachers?
