Towel Seat Cover

For those of you who know me personally, you know that I spend a lot of my free time either running, at the gym, or - more recently - kickboxing. Yes, I know I'm crazy and it's a little bit above insane, but it's my stress relief and I love it. What I don't love is getting into my brand new car wearing my gross, sweaty clothes. I came up with a quick, easy, and practically free solution for that. Towel Seat Cover Materials Needed: Towel Ribbon (1 yard) Sewing Machine - or just needle and thread Note: Satin ribbon is slick and will probably slide out. Stick to Grosgrain ribbon, which has little ridges. I have box of ribbon that I keep for impromptu projects like this. The ribbon used here I bought on clearance for 50 cents and the towel is um...borrowed from someplace I won't mention the name of. Instructions: 1. Find the center of your towel by folding it in half lengthwise (A). Line that center up with the center of your headrest a...

Burrito Pillowcase

Have you seen the tutorials for "Burrito Pillowcases"?  I didn't think it would really work, but my youngest craftbaby wanted to sew something, so I thought we would try it out.   I had recently found a post about the 1million Pillowcase Challenge on allpeoplequilt.com .  There are free patterns posted there and it looked simple enough, so I thought we would give it a try.   But I never do anything the simple way.  Kourey had a travel pillow that was in desperate need of a pillowcase and I didn't think I had enough material on hand for a regular sized pillow. So, I had to alter the dimensions as we put it together . Not bad, eh?  Next time I'll take pictures as we put it together. It was pretty simple and she loved showing it off while we traveled over the holidays.

My So Called Crazy Life

I really do have the best intentions.  Life just gets in the way sometimes.  I owe a follow-up on my last project I blogged about.  I'm actually really happy with the results, just not the time to took to complete OR the insane amount of time to post here.   Remember when I posted this? It was my inspiration for a project.  My cousin recently had a baby, and I wanted to make something for her.   So, this is what I ended up with: Cute, huh?  I love the different colors.  I just made up a pattern and placed it on the onesie to get the size right.  Then I cut it out, ironed interfacing on - to stabilize - and then zigzagged around it. But I didn't want to leave out the big sister, so it turned into two projects. But did I stop there?  NO!  I decided to put some ruffles on the little pants I got.  Didn't want the new baby to get cold while out visiting family for Turkey Day. Cuteness overload! Here are the two together a...
