Lost my Organizing MoJo

With work keeping me busy and all the end of the school year activities, I've really slacked off on my organizing. I did make some major improvements on getting my sewing corner ready in my bedroom, but the piles of crap that had built up there from shifting furniture and other items was too embarrassing to post here. Seriously, it was that bad.

So, to get myself back on track, I have picked out a project that I want to complete in the next two weeks. Why two weeks? Because that is all I have left with my kiddos at home. They are finishing school and then headed to grandma's for the summer. Yep - I know you are jealous. Do I miss them? Sure, but not enough to not enjoy the time off and the have the ability to tackle some projects around the house without them.

The first thing I want to get done is cleaning my oven. It's fairly new, but it sure has become dirty quickly. I pinned this little project to clean the glass in the door.

I also have melted aluminum foil on the bottom of the oven. I thought I was preventing a bigger mess when I was cooking something, but instead I just made a horrible mistake. So, I found this solution and pinned it to my Cleaning board on Pinterest.

Since the oven was new when this happened, I was devastated. I'm not looking forward to the smell, but if it works it will be worth it and I will never line my oven with foil again.

How to clean an oven naturally

After I get the foil off, I'm going to try this natural method to clean the entire oven. Yes, I have a self-cleaning oven. However, it's summer and I am not so crazy that I want to intentionally heat my home. Plus, using the self-cleaning feature can break down the coils, according to the manufacturer, and should be used sparingly to increase the longevity of the oven.

Easy Baby Sweater and Hat

After searching and attempting to create the perfect - and quick/easy - baby sweater to give as a gift, I finally just combined a few to make the one I wanted. This particular one is more what I would envision for a girl (regardless of color) because of the lacy pattern created with the shells. My next step to find/create one for a boy. Well, my cosplaying kid asked for another crocheted creation, but I don't watch Adventure Time. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but this was easy enough and I get to share a free pattern with you. It straps around the chin with a crocheted button and I had the yarn stashed away. Organize It - Shoe Rack Grips

Do we really need all these shoes? You can only wear one pair at a time. I guess it's a necessary evil. Shoes aren't my thing. I have more flip-flops and athletic shoes than anything else. I'm happy with that. My favorite shoes are actually my slippers. I could wear them all day and would wear them out if I thought I could get away with it. My hubby, on the other hand, can't have enough shoes. Our youngest K takes after him. We have a fairly large rack for our shoes in the closet to accommodate all those shoes. It's nothing fancy and fulfills my two requirements. It's functional and doesn't take up a lot of space. But there is one huge flaw. Our shoes don't stay put! It ok for shoes that have heels on them because they hang on the back bar.
