Summer of Pokémon - Jigglypuff

 When I crocheted Bulbasaur I did not envision that I would be doing more. However, my little boy was already searching for the next pokémon for me to make.  It's hard for me to say no to that cute little face, but also when I get a happy customer it drives me to do more.  Not everyone is appreciative of homemade gifts, but he is so enamoured with them that I just want to make him more.  What I didn't anticipate was how big his next selection would be.  


It's huge! Thank goodness I had a ton of pink yarn left over from another project. The pattern said it would be 6 inches tall, but this is clearly a lot bigger.  The pattern is available as a free download on Ravelry. It was pretty simple and clearly written.  I love the crocheted eyes, mostly because I like learning different ways to create a finished look.  

It's the perfect snuggly toy for sleeping with, tried and tested! There are many free and paid patterns for Jigglypuff out there with a variety of sizes.  With few peices to sew and minimum colors required, this is a quick and easy amigurumi project if you are looking for something to try.  Gotta catch them all!

Easy Baby Sweater and Hat

After searching and attempting to create the perfect - and quick/easy - baby sweater to give as a gift, I finally just combined a few to make the one I wanted. This particular one is more what I would envision for a girl (regardless of color) because of the lacy pattern created with the shells. My next step to find/create one for a boy. Crocheted Adventure Time Fiona Hat

Well, my cosplaying kid asked for another crocheted creation, but I don't watch Adventure Time.  I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, but this was easy enough and I get to share a free pattern with you.  It straps around the chin with a crocheted button and I had the yarn stashed away.  I love projects that use up leftover yarn, don't you?  I started out with  Lilana Wofsey Dohnert's   Finn hat pattern on Ravelry. Start Running!

Many of you have asked me how I got started with running.  Well, let me tell you!  This was no easy task.  My motto used to be "No one should run unless they are being chased."  Seriously.  Not only could I NOT run, I had always been told I would not ever be ABLE to run.  I have what's called physical activity induced asthma.  How is this different?  It means that any type of physical exertion can cause an asthma attack.  Lucky me!  I found this out when I was on the swim team as a child and pretty much sat everything out from there.
