So, I have been working on a baby afghan that I found on the Caron website:
Baby Plain Afghan
I like making different items and usually, like this time, it's for a request. So far, I like the pattern - especially since it is free. Who doesn't like free?!? It's very simple and easy to follow.
I'm almost finished with the solid color, which I chose to do in blue mint. I love the Simply Soft yarn line and I think it will make a cozy little cover for this baby. My only complaint is that the instructions state the amount of yarn needed is 9 oz for the solid color. NOT! These skeins come in 7 oz and so far I have used 5 whole skeins!!! The afghan is rather large, which is good because the baby won't outgrow it right away. I just wish I had known up front that it would take more yarn.
Hopefully I will finish the afghan this week and I will post pictures and any last remarks concerning this pattern. I haven't decided if I will do the ruffle or come up with my own edging to be more suited for a boy. Stay tuned....
