Sailor Purse

I made this little nautical number for Kat's graduation gift. She's a sailor, so it was important for me to use a sailing theme.  The inside is lined with sailboat fabric and the button decor has anchors on them.

Hair Clippies - Crocheted

Time for something new. I love projects that work up quickly and these definitely do. Plus, these little clips have grips on the inside so they don't slip even in the finest of hair. I can't wait to make more of these.

Using H hook and worsted weight yarn:

Chain 4 and form ring.

5 SC into ring. (slip st and tie off if you want to change colors for the petals here)

Slip st into first sc, chain 3

4 dc then slip st into same sc – repeat around and finish off

Glue to clippie…you can also use beads, buttons or jewels to glue or sew on flower.

Lady bug:

With black –

Chain 4 and form ring (I personally like to use an adjustable ring here)

1) 5 sc into ring (or 5 sc to make adjustable ring)

2) 2 sc into each sc

3) 2sc, 1sc into each sc around

You have two choices here. You can tie off and create another small circle repeating steps 1 and 2 and then sew to first circle

Slip st into next sc, 1 hdc, 2dc, 1hdc into same sc and finish with slip st

With Red-

Chain 6-9 (depends on how tight you crochet) – enough to match the length of the body.

Sc into 2nd chain from hook, hdc, 2dc, hdc, sc 9 (add hdc, dc, hdc as needed for length) – turn and add second row of sc if you want a larger wing

Repeat for second wing. Using black, place French knots where you want. You can also sew/glue sequins or felt circles (easier)

I'm Batman!

Kassidy's friend loves Batman and since it was her birthday, I made her a cut-out t-shirt. Cute, huh?

Aftyn's Too Cute Outfit

I crocheted this outfit and matching hat for my cousin, Aftyn. No pattern, just made it up as I went along. I hope it fits. It's not easy creating for a model who lives in another state.

Crocheted Baby Mobile

I love baby showers. It gives me an opportunity to make something new. I think this turned out just darling. I hope to make it again with perhaps bees or ladybugs.

Kourey's Birthday doll

Of course I had to make her a new outfit!

Crocheted Names

So, I crocheted these beautiful names for Christmas presents. I even mounted and framed them myself. Wouldn't you know that the frame of one of them broke during the shipping? I'm still waiting to hear if UPS is going to follow through with the insurance on it.
